The wings act as a reamer in the timber providing a clearance hole, thus preventing thread engagement and the resulting 'jacking' action. On contact with the steel the wings are designed to break off, allowing normal drilling and tapping into the steel section. This ensures a tight clamping action of the timber to the steel.
5.5mm wide; 60mm long; csk head; Posi No.3 drive; fix timber to steel from 1.5mm to 3.5mm thickness; Effective Fastening Range: 6.5 to 42mm.
